§ 01 · How a house gets power
How power reaches each room.
Scroll. The panel feeds each room in turn and the lights come on. This is what a Sunnyvale 200-amp upgrade actually wires: every run sized, protected and labeled.

From first call to final sticker.
The same four steps on every job. The only variable is how long PG&E takes.
- Day 0–2
Site walk
We open the panel, trace the loads, measure the runs. Written scope the same day.
- Week 1–3
Permit and PG&E
We file both on day one. Over-the-counter for chargers and circuits; two to four weeks for a service release.
- Install day
Power off at 8, on by 4
One crew, one van, a generator for your fridge. Conduit straight, plates level, floor vacuumed.

Inspection, met by us
We book the inspector and stand next to them. You get the sticker and a labeled directory.

Called Tuesday, site walk Thursday, written scope that evening. PG&E took three weeks; Volta took one day. The breaker directory alone was worth it.
Two other companies quoted a panel upgrade. Volta found a way to skip it with a load manager. Charging nine days after the first call.
They walked the kitchen at 7 pm before drawing anything. The Dinner scene is the first thing we show guests.
They set demo lights along the path at dusk so we could see it before choosing. Two days, no mess, and the oak at night is spectacular.

Guide · 4 min readHow to tell if your Sunnyvale home has an FPE or Zinsco panelTwo panel brands installed across the South Bay from the 1950s to the 1980s have a record of breakers that do not trip. Here is how to spot them from the garage.
Guide · 3 min readAdding an EV charger when your panel is already fullA full 100A or 125A panel does not always mean a service upgrade. Load management, circuit sharing and a smaller charger are three ways around it.

How fast can you come out?
Call to check availability for a site visit. Tell us if you have lost power so we can discuss the next step.
Do you give prices over the phone?
No. We price after a site walk because the panel, the run and the permit are different in every house. You get a written scope the same day as the walk.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, for every job that needs one. We also book and meet the inspector.
How long does PG&E take?
Two to four weeks for a service upgrade release, in our experience across Sunnyvale and Cupertino. We file on day one and chase it weekly.
Financing, after the site walk.
Available through our lending partner. Terms after your site visit, so what you apply for is the scope we wrote.
- Apply online in about ten minutes with the written scope
- Soft check until you accept terms
- Panels, EV circuits and rewires all qualify
