How we do it.
The charger is the easy part. The question is whether your panel can carry 48 A of continuous load on top of what it already does. We run the calculation on the site walk and give you a straight answer: yes, yes with load management, or a panel first.
Three ways to get there
- Dedicated 60 A circuit. The standard install. Breaker, conduit or NM-B to the garage, charger mounted at the right height for your cable reach.
- Load management. A charger that throttles when the oven and dryer are on. Lets a 100 A or 125 A panel charge a car overnight without an upgrade.
- Two cars, one circuit. Power-sharing chargers split 60 A between two vehicles. See the Lakewood case.
Chargers we install
Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, Wallbox, Emporia, Enphase. Hardwired where possible; a 14-50 receptacle with a GFCI breaker where you want portability. We register the charger with your utility rate plan on the day.
Permits
Sunnyvale issues EV charger permits fast, often same day online. We pull it, schedule the inspection and send you the signed card.

Next: a site walk.
Forty minutes at your panel. We leave you a written scope, the permit path and a start date. Prices come after the walk, never before.
